T-DMB Services Launched in Korea
December 07, 2005
According to the Korean Ministry of Information and Communication, free T-DMB services were launched in Korea on December 1. Initially, the service will only be available in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, and will be offered by six broadcasters, including KBS, MBC, SBS, YTN, U1 Media, and Korea DMB. People can use devices such as notebook PCs and PDAs to receive the broadcasts, but the service is not yet available on mobile phones as operators are worried about the profitability of offering free services. The ministry expects the service to become available nationwide in 2006.
